Time to edit and join the art photos and film to the music. Sounds like an easy process to do, but it’s not. You need to listen to the music to decide where to add in the film. The clips must be timed to fit in the spot they are selected for. Creative ideas from each member of the group are discussed. Our song we chose was Sunkissed by Khai Dreams. Certain parts of the music we linked to the shots we took. Lyrics such as “Oh, Oh,” are linked by two different shots of flowers. The lyric “In darkness how you find me just in time” is linked by a shot of a wall. One side of it is white and one black side.
This project we work in class as a group and edit together. Brenna has the computer we use with the editing software on it.Today in class we pointed out things that can be changed, and we can change them. Some things that changed compared to the original were the lightning and filters. More things we changed were the timing of certain shots. Changing the shots to match up better with the music lyrics and beat. The lyrics “So lovely loving you” are with our actor spinning slowly. The lyrics “feel the morning through the blinds” feature some flowers behind blinds. The lyric “ So if you don’t know what you need, you can leave it all to me”. Is with our actor placing a coffee cup that is focused by the camera. This is supposed to mean that the actor is giving what the person they are signing to needs.
The beginning of the music video there is a time lapse of the beach and a sunrise. This shot is mirrored with the lyrics changing from the beginning and end of the song. With the beginning of the song being sunrise and the end of the song being a shot of the sun during the afternoon. The second “Oh, Oh” lyric is of two walls of graffiti hearts from different. We skipped part of the song to fit within the 1:15 time limit. We skipped from the second verse to the forth verse. The end of the song has two different types of flowers. These are during the third “Oh, Oh”. The video is matched with the song at the end when it talks about sunrise and there is a sunrise. And the lyric “and a quiet place where I could give you all my time” is a coffee shop.
