Filming blog

Our group went to the C&I Cafe at FAT village. We asked to be able to film inside the cafe but could not film inside because of not having permission. So we went outside and filmed the graffiti. The first shot was the actor walking down the street. We set up the camera and filmed this shot 3 times before going to the next shot. We looked at the different graffiti on the buildings then took pictures of different ones. We walked down the street to where we saw some flowers and took some still shots. Farther down the alley we found some more colorful flowers to get still shots of. Next we set up another walking shot along a wall of graffiti. The actor practiced a casual walk to set the focus for filming.

We then filmed the walk along the graffiti wall. Then we  filmed the actor turning the corner and walking away. There wasn’t many people in the area because a lot of the shops were closed. I saw some graffiti of Mario on the wall but it wasn’t appropriate for our video. We took a still shot of a submarine boat on the wall. We needed some film of the railroad tracks for the video. The lighting was off so we couldn’t film it. We were having a hard time finding enough graffiti to film and get still shots in this area. Rain is expected tomorrow so we were trying to get as much as possible while we were here. The plan was to go to WynWood on Sunday for more filming. But we decided weather would be a factor to prevent that.

The group was able to get film on Sunday of a time lapse sunrise and sunset at the beach. The rain held off allowing for filming. We got a lot of good video for our project. We found out that the next week-end there would have been a lot of art vendors at FAT village. I wished it was while we were here. The weather was perfect for Saturday filming. The sun was out and warm. The actor had worn a sweater and was hot. The actor had a change of clothes if needed.
